In four years we have accomplished a great deal. They are not always things that are very obvious, but no less important.
- Lori is listening to residents and working to provide the balance she believes residents want to have in our community.
- Lori is a planner both short and long term. A must have going forward to make positive strides for our residents.
- Lori bridges the gap with entities outside of the township, that we must collaborate with going forward.
- Lori is willing to do the work necessary to promote pride in our community and keep Violet Township a destination for families.
Lori led the approval of the township Comprehensive Plan, initiated the creation of an Active Transportation Plan, and secured grants for technical assistance and feasibility studies for future sidewalks, crosswalks, and trail connection potential. Due to these efforts and the number of walkers, Harmon Middle School will receive an updated, more secure crosswalk in late 2026.
Lori worked closely with the county, ODOT, and MORPC on major road projects and supported the effort to secure OPWC grants to fund roadway improvements. With the Pickerington Rd. and anticipated Taylor Rd. interchanges, there are many opportunities to improve connectivity in the surrounding areas.
Lori helped bring over 750,000 sq. ft. of new commercial development and established the first JEDDs and NCA in Violet Twp. to generate new revenue for the community. Why is this important? New revenue infused into the township keeps our burden on the taxpayers from increasing.
Lori collaborated on a 20-acre land donation for preservation, increased required green space in developments to 30%, and advocates for balanced use of township land. Master planning the Violet Woods property (formerly the Wigwam property) will also bring about additional preserved green space.
Lori has secured grants and funding for the Pickerington Community Theatre, Violet Woods Event Center, and has worked with the Pickerington Senior Center the past four years to bring about positive changes.
Lori represents the township on (Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC), Fairfield County Land Bank, Fairfield 33 Development Alliance, RCOGG Board (Fire dispatching and EMS consortium), JEDD Board, NCA Board, and as liaison to the Pickerington Senior Center. Lori has also represented the township in county wide committees including the county land use plan and housing coalition studies.
Lori grew up in central Ohio when her father's military career brought them her in the early 70s.She is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University.With her husband Mike, they settled in Violet Township almost 40 years ago. She is the proud mom of three PLSD alumni. She is a small business owner providing Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy services, in schools. Prior to her serving the past four years as a township trustee, Lori served 24 years on the Pickerington School Board. She previously served on many community boards such as PYAA, YMCA, and school PTO and levy committees. She is currently President of the Pickerington Education Foundation, is active with the Pickerington Lions Club, and most recently the Violet Township Women's League.
